Denver Broncos Owner Passed Away

Pat Bowlen was 75 years old, he owned the Broncos for the past 35 seasons, according to KOB 4.

Pat was supposed to get inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in two months. During Pat's time of ownership, the Broncos had a record of 354-240-1, and they made it to the Superbowl eight times, seven of those times were under the supervision of Pat (winning three Superbowls). He was the first owner to oversee a team that won 300 games, including playoffs.

Around 2014-2015, Pat had to step down from his daily duties of running the team as CEO due to being diagnosed with having Alzheimer's. There is no word yet as to what the cause of death was, but it is almost certain that the Alzheimers finally caught up with him.

Pat Bowlen was one of the members of the 15 NFL committees, he was also co-chairing the NFL Management Council. Plus, he worked on NFL TV contracts, like the $18 billion deal in 1998.

"Pat was the driving force in establishing the championship culture of the Broncos. He was also an extraordinary leader at the league level during a key period," Broncos President and CEO Joe Ellis said in a press release. "With the fans, Pat felt in many ways that his team belonged to them and approached things with that in mind. There will never be another owner like Pat Bowlen."

Pat Bowlen has seven children, Amie, Beth, Patrick, Johnny, Brittany, Annabel, and Christina. His wife, Annabel is still around as well, but she too has Alzheimer's.
