Cheyenne Used Book Sale Expected To Be Delayed By Flooding
Organizers of the Cheyenne Delta Kappa Gamma used book sale say it will be held again this year.
But it may be a little later than usual.
The event is a long-time Cheyenne tradition, raising money for educational organizations.
It's been held every year since 1983 except for in 2020, during the COVID pandemic. Typically it's an early March event, held at various locations around Cheyenne, ranging from schools to the locations of closed businesses, among others.
This year's event is slated for the former location of Joanne Fabrics in the Frontier Mall.
So What's Different This Year?
But there is a problem, according to Kathie Selden of DKG:
"The sale will be in the former Joanne Fabrics in the Frontier Mall, but there was a bad flood there recently. We will not be able to move in until the facility is completely refurbished and ready. We are not sure when that will be, so please save your books to donate. The hope is that it will still be in March."
Selden says DKG will post further information here. At last report the website had not been updated from last year, but Selden says that should change in the near future.
Delta Kappa Gamma, by the way, is a professional honorary society for female educators. Selden, like many of the members of DKG, is a retired teacher.
