We just learned this morning of the sudden passing of of our long-time friend, avid supporter of Cheyenne and Wyoming, and legend in the broadcast industry, Tom Bauman.

Tom came to Cheyenne over 40 years ago and built and operated KRAE radio until just a few years ago, but like so many of us in the broadcast business, Tom soon came to us here at KGAB with an idea to get back in the saddle. Tom has been the Saturday morning host here of Tom's View and often talked about those issues and people most influencing the community. He was with us even this past Saturday as he recovered from recent surgery. Last month, Cheyenne Mayor Rick Kaysen proclaimed July 19 as Tom Bauman Day and the road around the north parking lot of LCCC was named Tom Bauman Loop Road.

Tom Bauman will be missed by all of us who knew him on the air and across the Cheyenne comunity, and out thoughts and prayers are with his family. God Bless you, Tom. Your voice and influence will long be remembered.

Services are scheduled for Saturday, August 18, at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 5101 Dell Range Blvd. in Cheyenne at 11:00AM

We will plan to do a special tribute and celebration of Tom's life during the normal tome of his Saturday morning program, Tom's View, this Saturday, August 18, from 6 til 8AM MDT at which time we will open the KGAB phone lines, as Tom did so many times over the years and ask you "What Do You Think?", your thoughts and memories of Tom Bauman, his time on the radio, his time giving so much to the community and the wonderful things that he did. We willbe talking with many of Tom's old friends, too, so join us for the very last "Tom's View" a Remembering of The Man, His Words and Deeds" here on AM650 KGAB and www.kgab.com
