Dave Kinskey of Sheridan was sworn in to the Wyoming State Senate Tuesday by Wyoming Supreme Court Chief Justice James Burke.

Kinskey, the former mayor of Sheridan, will fill the seat left vacant when Senator John Schiffer died on June 19th.

In remarks Kinskey said "he can follow in John's footsteps, but never fill his shoes." Kinskey said he is "working to get up to speed as quickly as possible so that he can do honor to Senator Schiffer's memory."

Kinskey said he will fill the slots on the Judiciary Committee and Transportation, Highways and Military Affairs Committee left empty by Senator Schiffer's death. Kinskey said his priorities include: preserving free market principles, pushing back against encroachment by the federal government, sustainability of agriculture, funding for local governments and continue putting money into the Permanant Mineral Trust Fund.
