Cheyenne Regional Medical Center and Wyoming Medical Center in Casper signed a letter of intent this week to officially explore a potential partnership that will create a Wyoming based healthcare system.

The letter follows a recent vote by both hospital boards to proceed in exploring "Wyoming Solutions."

According to a news release, hospital leadership will spend several months working under this letter of intent. Discussions will focus on:

  • Creating a unified system that ensures access to advance healthcare services throughout the state
  • Enhancing quality and cost-efficiency as hospitals respond to changes and compete with out-of-state systems
  • Investing in cutting edge care
  • Recruiting specialized physicians
  • Helping control the costs of healthcare
  • Protecting healthcare jobs in Wyoming
