
$50K Bond Set for Child Abuse Suspect Arrested in South Cheyenne
A 34-year-old man is facing a handful of charges, including three felonies, following an incident in West Winds Mobile Home Park last week.
According to a booking sheet, Matthew Ryan Setterstrom was arrested at 4:11 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 16 after a Laramie County Sheriff's deputy was dispatched to an address for a possible child abuse call and saw him flee the residence on foot.
The deputy says three people listed in a protection order signed by Laramie County Circuit Court Judge Antoinette Wiliams on Sept. 26, 2024, live at the residence.

Setterstrom Taken Down by K-9
"Deputies and a Cheyenne Police Department K-9 unit searched and found Setterstrom," the Sheriff's Office in a Facebook post on Friday evening said.

While being placed in the WRAP, Setterstrom reportedly bit a deputy on the hand, causing pain and injury.
The deputy received treatment for the bite at Cheyenne Regional Medical Center (CRMC).
Setterstrom, who received minor injuries to his left upper arm during the arrest, was also treated at CRMC and cleared for jail.
Setterstrom Charged With 3 Felonies, 2 Misdemeanors
Setterstrom was subsequently charged with three felonies, including child abuse, interference with a peace officer - bodily injury, and habitual criminal.
He was also charged with two misdemeanors, including protection order violation and property destruction.
Bond Set at $50K Cash
Setterstrom made his initial appearance in Circuit Court on Monday, Oct. 21, during which his bond was set at $50,000 cash and his preliminary hearing was scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 30 at 2:30 p.m.
