The University of Wyoming men’s basketball team finalized its 2013-14 schedule on Friday with the release of the Mountain West slate. The Cowboys’ fourth season under head coach Larry Shyatt will feature nine MW home games in addition to 10 home games during the non-conference schedule, which was originally announced in June. Game times and additional television games will be released at a later date.

UW’s conference matchups in the Arena-Auditorium are highlighted by contests against MW regular season and tournament champion New Mexico on Wednesday, Jan. 8, NCAA Tournament participants San Diego State and Boise State on Tuesday, Feb. 11 and Saturday, March 1, respectively, and archrival Colorado State to end the regular season on Saturday, March 8. UW also hosts Front Range foe Air Force on Wednesday, Feb. 26 and former WAC and new MW foe Utah State on Saturday, Feb. 1. The Pokes will now play a total of 10 games versus opponents that participated in the 2012-13 postseason.

With the MW expanding to 11 teams this season, the conference schedule will now feature 18 games for each school with contests initially slated for Wednesday and Saturday. Each team will play eight opponents twice in a home-and-home format, and two opponents one time. Of the two opponents a team will play once, one game will be at home and one on the road. Wyoming will not travel to San Diego State or host UNLV in 2013-14.

The Mountain West Championship will once again be hosted at UNLV’s Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas. All 11 conference teams will participate with the first round on Wednesday, March 12, the quarterfinals on Thursday, March 13, the semifinals on Friday, March 14 and the final on Saturday, March 15.
