Continuance Granted in Cheyenne Murder Case
A continuance has been granted in the case of a 78-year-old Cheyenne man accused of killing a man who was living in an RV on his property.
Charles Richmond was scheduled to appear in Laramie County Circuit Court Thursday morning, but his preliminary hearing has been rescheduled for Dec. 21 at 10:30 a.m.
Richmond is charged with first-degree murder in the Dec. 5 shooting death of 41-year-old John-Paul Birgenheier.
He's alleged to have shot Birgerheier three times with a 12-gauge shotgun after the two got into a fight over a missing meth pipe and grocery money.
Richmond remains jailed on a $100,000 cash bond. If convicted, he could face life in prison or the death penalty.
