On Friday, December 29, we are going to poll our listeners and readers on who they believe the Cheyenne "Person of the Year" for 2023 should be.

We are looking for the person who did the most to make Cheyenne a better place to live in 2023.

It might be someone in the public spotlight, but it might also be someone who works behind the scenes. Maybe even someone who doesn't get a lot of recognition on a day-to-day basis.

For example, folks who lead local charities or who organize drives for toys or school supplies for local kids. Those who work to feed hungry people, help those in need or organize fundraising events.

We'll sort of let you decide the criteria so long as they are making our community a better or safer place. We aren't so much looking for one-time "heroes" as much as those who are always working to make Cheyenne a better place.

Nominate Someone Here

So we are asking for your nominations, along with a brief explanation of why you think the person deserves the recognition. Then check back tomorrow to cast your vote!

10+ Places in Cheyenne Named After Veterans

It should come as no surprise that numerous locations around the capital city bear names of veterans and war heroes, with F.E. Warren Fort D.A. Russell playing such a significant role in our city's history. How many names and places do you recognize?
