About 75 people, including about 50 veterans attended the Cheyenne VA Medical Center annual community “Homeless Stand Down” event on Friday at the American Legion, Post 6 in Cheyenne. Attendee's to this year’s “Homeless Stand Down” will provide information on a range of community and VA assistance including VA registration, VA’s Health Care for Homeless Veterans (HCHV) program, dental screening, women’s health services, substance use and other mental wellness counseling opportunities, VA Chaplains, community housing options, food, clothing, blankets and free barbering. This wide range of services are provided in order to meet the immediate and long term needs of the homeless.
