As part of its overall focus on helping the community stay healthy, Cheyenne Regional Medical Center will host a free men’s health event on Saturday, Oct. 26.

The event will take place from 7 to 10:30 a.m. in the hospital's main auditoriums.

"This event in particular offers a convenient way for men to ask medical experts about issues that can impact their health," said CRMC Oncology Program Manager Barbara Lawyer.

The first 200 men to attend will receive a free blood test that will screen for lipids, testosterone, glucose and prostate-specific antigen levels.

Men who have the blood test are asked not to eat or drink anything except water for at least 8 hours before the test. Prescribed medications should be taken as usual.

Information on a free colorectal screening for those who qualify and free stool-testing kits for the uninsured will also be available.
