Cheyenne Police Warn Drivers to Look Out for Trick-or-Treaters
Cheyenne will be crawling with boos and ghouls Thursday night and police are warning motorists to be on the lookout.
Officer Kevin Malatesta says while he can't recall any incidents of trick-or-treaters being hit in recent years, the potential for car accidents involving children significantly increases on Halloween night.
"We just want to make sure that people are driving safely, being mindful in the neighborhoods and just watching for all those kids," said Malatesta.
"Another thing that just helps out with that traffic safety for children is making sure that they've got flashlights, glow sticks or something that's reflective on their costume or clothing," he added.
Malatesta says officers will also be out looking for parties and underage drinking as well as keeping a watchful eye on the cemeteries for any vandals.
"Our primary focus of the evening is making sure that all those kids are able to enjoy a safe Halloween," he said.
