Cheyenne Mayor Marian Orr has created a new position to improve communication between her office and the public.

Orr announced Thursday that Holly Martinez will serve as the Director of Constituent Services.

"I want Cheyenne to be known as a business and people friendly community," said Orr. "I believe that starts with the mayor's office."

Orr says the new position will help ensure the public has a better experience when they call or come into the mayor's office.

"I plan to take that one step further and improve the communications between the mayor's office and the City Council and city staff," said Orr.

Martinez has a long history of working in the government sector. She's held several positions with the State of Wyoming, including time in Governor Dave Freudenthal's Planning Office and most recently with the Wyoming Infrastructure Authority.
