Two Cheyenne residents are facing a combined eight charges following a hit-and-run and chase.

According to the Laramie County Sheriff's Office, deputies were helping investigate a hit-and-run that took place in Cheyenne on Friday, Sept. 12, when they spotted the suspect vehicle and attempted a traffic stop.

"The driver failed to stop, leading to a vehicle chase," the department said in a Facebook post.

Chase Leads to 2 Arrests, Slew of Charges

The driver, 24-year-old Hannah Kalissa Wendtland, then reportedly crashed the vehicle and she and her passenger, 38-year-old Roman Gabriel Andrade, took off on foot.

The Sheriff's Office says Andrade was quickly apprehended after being tased and Wendtland was later arrested by the Cheyenne Police Department.

Andrade was subsequently charged with interference with a peace officer - no injury, a misdemeanor.

On Monday, Sept. 15, Andrade was seen in Laramie County Circuit Court in front of Judge TJ Forwood on the charge.

Forwood appointed Andrade a public defender and set his bond at $1,000 at 10%, which he later posted.

His next court date will be an arraignment on Wednesday, Oct. 22, at 9 a.m.

Wendtland was subsequently charged in one docket with aggravated eluding, a felony punishable by up to five years in prison, up to a $5,000 fine, or both, and two misdemeanors, including interference with a peace officer - no injury and duty upon colliding with an unattended vehicle.

She was also charged in another docket with four misdemeanors, including DUI, duty to stop, reckless driving, and proof of liability insurance.

Forwood saw her on the charges on Tuesday, Sept. 16, during which he appointed her a public defender and set her bond at $10,000 cash.

Her next court date will be a preliminary hearing and arraignment on Tuesday, Sept. 23, at 10 a.m.
