Cheyenne Firefighters Launch Christmas Bike Drive
Cheyenne Firefighters have launched a holiday bicycle drive to help local children in need this Christmas.
The goal is to have 40 bikes for local kids in time for Christmas. Donations of new bikes or money to help buy new bicycles are being accepted at the Fire Station Headquarters at 716 W. 19th St. in Cheyenne.
The bike drive is being co-sponsored by the Townsquare Media of Cheyenne radio stations [KGAB-AM, 1063 Cowboy Country, and 101.9 King-FM]. Other sponsors include CBS NewsChannel 5, the Wyoming Tribune-Eagle and #1 Properties as well as the Cheyenne Fire and Rescue and Local 279 of the International Association of Firefighters. Donations will be accepted through Dec. 20.
The Local 279 Auxiliary is also working to make sure the kids who get the bikes get safety helmets as well.
