In light of an outpouring of community support, the Big Laramie Fire Department has set up a trailer at The Butcher Block in West Laramie to collect donated items for the firefighters battling the Badger Creek Fire in the southern Snowy Range.

The BLFD said firefighters can use items such as bottled water, Gatorade-type drinks, lip balm, eye drops, sunscreen, bug spray, wet wipes and other toiletries as well as snacks such as granola bars, fruit snacks and fresh fruit.

The BLFD said they will post information on their Facebook page about when they will pick the trailer up and when they plan to return it the next day.

Other community members are also collecting items for the firefighters, including Patti Hartley and Tim Mickelson at 1612 E. Kearney Street in Laramie, (307) 760-1377; Laura Trabing at Simple Start Childcare at 5916 Chaparral Drive in Laramie, (307) 399-2196; Brad and Desiree Smith at 2817 Henderson Drive in Cheyenne, (307)274-7768, according to information provided by Patti Hartley.
