Sally Jewel, U.S. Secretary of Interior and Jonathan B. Jarvis, Director of the National Park Service, said that the Albany County Ames Monument makes the registry.

The National Historic Landmarks Program looks at historical properties that they feel help to capture the history of America.

Out of 10 National Historic Landmarks, the Ames Monument in Albany County Wyoming, made the cut.

Completed in 1882, the Ames Monument shows the work of one Henry Hobson Richardson, an architectural designer.

Other states who had highlights make the registry were in Indiana, Michigan and Wisconsin.
