An Albany County man has been convicted of First-Degree Sexual Assault, Aggravated Burglary, Felonious Restraint, and Domestic Battery in a jury trial that wrapped up on Wednesday, April 8.

That's according to a news release from the Albany County Sheriff's Office.

According to the release "In July 2025, after completing an investigation, the Albany County Sheriff’s Office, along with assisting agencies, safely executed a high-risk felony arrest warrant in Northern Albany County for Ricky Ayers (54). He was charged with First-Degree Sexual Assault, Aggravated Burglary, Felonious Restraint, and Domestic Battery. The arrest was carried out without incident, and the case was later bound over to District Court."

While the verdict came back on Wednesday, Ayers has not yet been sentenced. His bond was revoked and he was taken into custody to await sentencing.
