The Girls State Track Meet rolled along in Casper on Friday with some dreary weather which made things annoying, to say the least. There were 3 events on the track that was in the "finals" category and starting off the day was the 800-meter run.

In 1A, Cokeville freshman Bryli Groll ran 2.26.50 to take the tape, and in the 1A relays, Meeteetse won the 4x100 and Burlington took the 4x400. In the 1A girl's field events, Tinley Pierson of Kaycee cleared 9-3 to win the pole vault, Jordan Stoddard of Southeast, who won the long jump on Thursday took first in the high jump at 5-4. In the triple jump, Taylar Scott of HEM prevailed in that event with a leap of 34-3. Shelby Ekwall of Southeast won the shot-put at 36-2.50. After two days of competition, Cokeville has the lead in the team standings with 64 points, Southeast is right behind with 57 and Burlington is 3rd with 54.

Over in 2A Girls, Addie Pendergast of Tongue River made it 2 for 2 in the distance races with a win in the 800 in 2.20.02. Pine Bluffs captured the 4x100 relay and Wyoming Indian won the 4x800 relay. Tongue River continued to have a strong meet as Carleigh Reish wins the high jump at 5 feet even. Kaitey Christensen of Rocky Mountain went 31-11 to win the triple jump and in the shot put, Amelia Gee takes the gold at 35-11. Tongue River is leading the team standings with 76, Pine Bluffs 2nd with 50.5, and Glenrock is 3rd at 44.5.

In 3A Girls, Lovell Sophomore Amee Newman ran 2.22.20 to win the 800 with Wheatland winning the 4x100 and Buffalo the 4x800. Individually, Kamdynn Townsend of Douglas repeated as the state champion in the long jump at 17-6.75. Brice Hansen of Lyman threw 114-9 to win the discus. Powell currently leads the team standings with 39 points, Lyman 2nd with 38, and Mountain View 3rd with 35.5.

in 4A, Grace Shaffer of Cody set an all-class record in the girl's pole vault clearing 12-6.5. Alesha Lane of Natrona threw 131-3 to win the discus and outdistance the 4A shot-put winner Lauryn Love of Campbell County. Cheyenne East freshman Taliah Morris won the long jump at 19-1. On the track, Kate Brigham of Jackson took the 800 in 2.14.18. The Broncs also won the 4x800 with Campbell County taking the 4x100. In the 4A girls team standings, Cheyenne Central is in first with 51.5, Sheridan 2nd with 49 and, Kelly Walsh 3rd with 48.
