A 12-year-old on a bicycle was injured after he was hit by an SUV in south Cheyenne last (Monday) night.

Laramie County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Capt. Linda Gesell says the accident occurred shortly before 7 p.m. at 720 W. Prosser Road.

Gesell says the driver of the SUV was headed west on W. Prosser Road doing about 30 mph when the boy rode his bike out into the street without looking. The driver didn't have time to react and ended up hitting the boy.

The boy was taken to Cheyenne Regional Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

Gesell says the driver -- who stayed on scene until deputies completed their investigation -- isn't facing any charges at this time.
