1-Year-Old Killed, 7 Injured in South Central Wyoming Crash
A 1-year-old Sacramento, California girl is dead following a collision on Interstate 80 in south central Wyoming.
Wyoming Highway Patrol Sgt. Kyle McKay says the crash occurred just west of Arlington around 2:25 p.m. last Monday.
McKay says a Dodge Caravan carrying five people was headed west on I-80 in the left lane, when it swerved to the right lane to avoid hitting a semi in the left lane.
The Caravan then went off the road to the right and hit three people in a Nissan Quest that was parked on the shoulder.
Asrobita Lapadat, a passenger in the Caravan, died in the crash.
A 3-year-old who was also in the Caravan was life-flighted to Wyoming Medical Center in Casper and the others were taken to Ivinson Memorial Hospital in Laramie, but McKay didn't know the extent of their injuries.
McKay says improper use of a child restraint is being investigated.
