Wyoming Observes National Tourism Week
State and local officicials were on hand Thursday at the Capitol in Cheyenne to observe National Tourism Week. The event is held the first week of May and is designed to promote and champion power of travel. Governor Matt Mead signed a proclamation declaring May 3-11, 2014 as National Travel and Tourism Week in Wyoming. Local events are held throughout Wyoming in cities, parks and businesses.
Tourism Director Diane Shober says tourism is big business in Wyoming. She says this year the office is teaming up with the Wyoming State Parks and Historic Sites and Trails to promote tourism to and within the state to get people to seek adventure in and around the state parks.
