A man could face 50-125 years in prison if convicted of four felony charges following his arrest during a sting operation on Monday.

The man, who authorities have not identified, is accused of solicitation to commit human trafficking in the first degree, attempt to commit human trafficking in the first degree, attempt to commit sexual servitude of a minor and attempt to commit sexual abuse of a minor in the second degree.

Special agents from the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation worked with detectives from the Sweetwater County Sheriff's Office and Rock Springs Police Department to set up a sting over the weekend.

County detectives reportedly launched their investigation when they learned that the suspect was allegedly soliciting sex with a child.

The man approached an undercover female detective near his home and was arrested after a brief struggle, according to a news release from the Sweetwater County Sheriff's Office.

As of Thursday afternoon, the suspect was being held without bond at the Sweetwater County Detention Center.

Sheriff Mike Lowell says the investigation continues.
