Wyo. Lottery Board Seeks $1 Million Start-up Loan

CASPER, Wyo. (AP) — The Wyoming Lottery Board is seeking a $1 million line of credit to start up a state lottery.

It would be the first funding the board will receive and would help the board hire a CEO, hire a gaming vendor and secure office space in Cheyenne.
Officials say banks in the state have until Aug. 9 to reply to the board’s request for a loan.

The board was appointed by Gov. Matt Mead when the lottery law took effect at the start of this month. It is tasked with creating and hiring the members of what will become the Wyoming Lottery Corp.
