You have probably sent money to the Wounded Warrior Project, which was to help fund wounded warriors who have fought for freedoms overseas during Iraq and Afghanistan.

The story was exposed by CBS Newsman Chip Reid, who shared the fact that the Wounded Warrior Project raised over a billion dollars in 2003. In 2014, about $300 million was raised in an effort to help wounded veterans.

According to a retired Army staff sergeant, Eric Millette, who worked for the program for about two years, finally quite and said, "I'll be d----- if you're gonna take hard-working Americans' money and drink it and waste it, instead of helping those brave men and women who gave you the freedom to walk the face of this earth."

The board has fired former CEO Steve Nardizzi and former COO Al Giordano for allowing 40 - 50 percent of the funds received to go to overhead and squandering funds.

Larry Janos, representative of the Chapter 2 Disabled American Veterans, said that he knew about the national abuses, but guaranteed that local offerings go to help transport disabled veterans to received services throughout the Cowboy State and funds are not misappropriated.
