How many times have you been to a Halloween party and heard songs like "The Monster Mash" playing while you danced? There are others too.  But what exactly are the most popular Top 40 Halloween-type songs of all-time? Today on the Top 5 at 7:45, I'll highlight the top song picks here.

  1. Thriller - Michael Jackson's song hit number 4 on the Top 100 back in 1984. My favorite part is the Vincent Price monologue and laugh at the end.
  2. Monster Mash - I would say that this tune by Bobby "Boris" Pickett & The Crypt Kickers was probably the #1 for years. However for many, it probably still is.
  3. Ghostbusters - In 1984, Ray Parker Jr. from Raydio asked us all the question, "Who Ya Gonna Call?"
  4. Superstition - Stevie Wonder let us know that "superstition ain't the way" back in 1972.
  5. Dead Man's Party - Danny Elfman and Oingo Boingo relay what life might be like at a dead man's party, but they have to leave their body and soul at the door before entering in.

The Top 5 at 7:45 airs weekdays with me, Gary Freeman and sponsored by First Education Federal Credit Union.
