University of Wyoming head basketball coach Larry Shyatt announced Wednesday that redshirt junior forward Leonard Washington has been suspended from the Cowboy basketball team indefinitely. Shyatt in a news release said the program has "certain expectations and standards that members of our program must meet and at this time Leonard has not met those expectations and standards.”

A Second Team All-Mountain West selection, Washington averaged 12.9 points, 6.9 rebounds, 1.2 steals and 1.1 blocks in 32 starts for the Cowboys last season. He ranked in the Top 10 of six MW statistical categories, including leading the conference in blocks (1.0) and field goal percentage (56.0). He scored in double figures in 22 games and notched six double-doubles.
