There was a time when everything was done by hand. From metal work to clothing, cooking to wagon building, rope making and farming. There were no machines to help us.

Those skills may be rarely used today, but they are not forgotten. There is a chance to see the master of the old ways plying their trade at Cheyenne Frontier Days. It is a wonderful learning experience as they explain how they do what they do, and how they still make a living at it.

Special thanks to: Hansen Wheel And Wagon Shop of Letcher South Dakota for showing us how to make a wagon wheel.

Thanks to Michael J. Guli of River Crossing Inc. He showed us how he costume makes clothing the old way, head to toe, from hat to shoes and boots, shirts, pants, and coats.
