This time of year, or any time of year for that matter, people like to hear a real good urban legend. But what if they are more than just a legend? What if they're real?

Here are 5 stories that were just thought to be urban legends, that actually happened to real people. We hope you'll enjoy these weird, but true stories.

  1. Black Water - It was reported that a hotel in California, had complaints from their guests that there was discoloration in the water. Once staff at the Cecil Hotel had finished their investigation, they found that there was a corpse in their water tank.
  2. The "Real" Halloween Story - In 2005, it was reported that a 42 year old woman took her own life by hanging herself from a tree. The reason why no one went over to help her, was because they mistook the suicide for a Halloween decoration.
  3. Waking Up In A Morgue - If you ever had a nightmare that you woke up in a body bag, cold and in a morgue, then you can sympathize with this lady. In 2011, a woman named Maria de Jesus Arroyo was declared dead after a heart attack in L.A. Workers observed that her body bag was slightly unzipped, with cuts and bruises on her body because she was not dead when the hospital put her in the morgue. She actually froze to death while trapped inside the drawer.
  4. A Corpse In The Car - What would you do if you went to pick up a friend, to cruise around with and thought him to be just drunk? That's what happened to Robert Young and Mark Rubinson when they went to pick up their friend for partying and thought he was just super drunk. They were drunk also, and couldn't tell that their pal was actually dead. So they cruised all night while a dead corpse rode in the back.
  5. A Corpse In The Pool - Marie Joseph ended up in a community pool in Fall River, Massachusetts, after being discovered three days since the incident. People were still scratching their head as to why health inspectors and lifeguards didn't notice the cloudy water, nor the body floating in the pool.
