Sweetwater County Sheriff Investigating Death of Utah Police Officer
The Sweetwater County Sheriff's Department is asking for help from the public in it's investigation into the death of a Utah police officer near Green River last week.
Sheriff's Department spokesman Dick Blust says the body of Micheal Valdes, a West Valley, Utah police officer, was discovered in his vehicle Thursday night in the westbound lane of the Interstate 80 tunnel just west of Green River
Sheriff Warns of Facebook Scam
The Sweetwater County Sheriff's office is warning people about a scam cyber crooks have been employing on Facebook.
According to department spokesman Dick Blust, the prospective victim is contacted by someone claiming to be a person who has been "friended" who says something has happened to their account and asks the victim to "friend" them again

Idaho Truck Driver Accused of Truck Stop Violence
An Idaho truck driver remains in custody at the Sweetwater County Detention Center, charged with multiple felonies after an incident of reported domestic violence near Wamsutter.
Sweetwater County Sheriff Rich Haskell says deputies responded at about 3:00 AM on December 5 to Love’s Truck Stop just north of Wamsutter, where they found a woman identified as Georjana Price, who had herself locked in a toilet stall, hiding from a man later determined to be Allen Gordon Taber, 56, of Idaho Falls, Idaho
