Wyoming’s two U.S. Senators voted against the continuing resolution (CR) today that would fund the federal government for the next six months. Senators Mike Enzi and John Barrasso oppose the bill, which includes a provision that restores Abandoned Mind Land (AML) Trust Fund funding for all states except Wyoming.

A bipartisan group of U.S. senators introduced legislation this week that would restore the money owed to coal producing states from the Abandoned Mine Land (AML) Trust Fund. In June, the House and Senate passed a two-year transportation bill which included a provision that raided trust funds used for reclaiming abandoned mine lands.

Senator John Barrasso(R-WY) spoke on the floor of the U.S. Senate Tuesday about his subcommittee report entitled “Red Tape Making Americans Sick” which details the health impacts of high unemployment. Three workers injured in a fire at the Sinclair Refinery near Rawlins were taken to a burn center in Colorado in critical conditio
