She (Michele Bachmann) is not about to be sidetracked by playing petty word games with inconsequential reporters who expect to deal her a sucker punch and then recoup their own images by offering up a little empty contrition. Her campaign timetable is too significant to be sidetracked on that basis.

It is no less amazing that the perennially shallow among us can witness the power and impact of so gifted an individual as Reagan, and only glean some relatively secondary attributes of personal style and charismatic appeal as the invaluable traits needing to be emulated. Meanwhile they remain oblivious to, or even contemptuous of the actual qualities of Ronald Reagan that set him apart from the rest of the political field.

Election Day 2012 is still a year and a half away. But the damage to this nation has been so severe and inescapable that no amount of media spin can erase it from the awareness of the people. Americans are in no mood for any continuation of the abominable present course. And the Republican challenger who can credibly make the case for a sweeping departure from it will surely find widespread and heartfelt support from across the nation.

Texas Governor Rick Perry, a bold and unapologetic conservative, represents a glimmer of hope in an otherwise discouraging Republican field. Word that Perry is contemplating a run for the White House has electrified those in the grassroots who are watching the situation closely.

Accountability for all political office holders, from the national down to the local level in the smallest townships, is key to any restoration of the greatness of America. And those who strive against it, regardless of the party affiliation they find most convenient, must be relegated to the ranks of “unfit” to hold office, whether they be wolves in sheep’s clothing, or are merely naive and sufficiently unprincipled to sacrifice their core values for a proverbial “place at the table.”

Throughout all of this, “business as usual” Republicans are again proving to be Obama’s biggest allies. Perpetually living in fear of scorn and ridicule from the “mainstream” media, they squander their political capital in a futile effort to stay in the good graces of the so-called political “center” (as it has been defined by the left) while flippantly disparaging or trivializing the conservative base.

Sadly, entrenched Republicans are invariably unwilling to go “toe to toe” against the liberal political machine. And this is particularly unfortunate because their naive determination to remaining fixed on “the issues,” with no effort to directly confront the fraudulent and duplicitous nature of the individuals on the left, leaves them at a total disadvantage when seeking to contrast themselves against the ostensible bliss of a liberal/socialist America.

....those “Republicans” who cherish their professional standing among their peers in the Washington establishment more than their commitment to conservative principle will face primary challengers who have their priorities straight. Last fall’s electoral tidal wave was only the beginning. The principles driving the Tea Party are alive and well, and remain as fixed and immovable as bedrock, while politicians are expendable.
