The Cheyenne Police Department would like to remind citizens that school will be back in session next week and that the police department will be focusing on traffic enforcement in school zones this month. Cheyenne Police Department spokesman Officer Dan Long says as school starts again, expect to see a higher visibility of police and a continuation of strict enforcement in school zones.
Cheyenne Police Investigate “Suspicious Circumstance” Near Buffalo Ridge School
On the morning of Wednesday October 17th near the intersection of Melton & Hickory Place, a man in a white pick up truck stopped near two juvenile boys who were walking to school. Reportedly the man got out of his truck and after opening a rear door, asked the boys if they could help look for his cell phone. Police Department spokesman Lew Simpson says the two juveniles then said they had to get to school and ran off. They said the man did not attempt to run after them.
Student Hit By Vehicle Near Baggs Elementary [UPDATED]

Cheyenne police continue to investigate an accident involving a pedestrian that occurred at about 7:50am Wednesday morning near Baggs Elementary School. Cheyenne Police Department spokesman Officer Dan Long says when officers arrived on scene and found a 12 year-old Cheyenne girl had been struck by a vehicle while she was crossing the street. The Laramie County School District Community Relations office reports that the girl was transported to Cheyenne Regional Medical Center where she was treated for cuts and bruises and was being held overnight for observation.
Cheyenne Police Investigate Hit and Run
Cheyenne Police were called to the area of Stinson Avenue and Fox Farm Road in the early morn-ing hours of September 30th regarding a hit and run accident. Cheyenne Police Department spokesman Officer Dan Long says at about 3:00am, officers arrived on scene and found a 22 year-old Cheyenne man had been struck by a vehicle
