Forest Officials Use Tree Thinning to Combat Mountain Pine Beetles [AUDIO]

Mountain Pine Beetle Update

Some of Wyoming's forests, including the Medicine Bow National Forest, are seeing a let up of the Mountain Pine Beetle infestation. Les Koch, Forest Health Specialist with the Wyoming State Forestry Division says the reason the  infestation is declining in some areas is because they have run out of trees to kill.

Wyoming Can Join Black Hills Forest Lawsuit [AUDIO]

A judge has granted requests by South Dakota and Wyoming to intervene in a federal lawsuit involving management of the Black Hills National Forest. Doug Randall reports.  All it takes to get on the road to better health is to put one for in front of the other. This is National Walking Day, and a challenge has been issued to Wyomingites. Wyoming Intervenes in Lawsuit [AUDIO]

Governor Matt Mead announced Wednesday that Wyoming has filed a motion to intervene in a lawsuit to defend an amendment to the Black Hills Forest Plan. Amy Richards has a report. The Wyoming Game and Fish Department will hold a series of public meetings in march to discuss proposals for 2012 big game and bird seasons, according to spokesman Al Langston.
