The State of Wyoming Motor Vehicle Management System  within the Department of Administration and Information, is now offering “auction” vehicles online. These vehicles have traditionally been sold in the annual Motor Pool auction and will now be offered and sold online year-round.

The PublicSurplus.com website will offer the public access to the state’s replacement vehicles throughout the year and reduce the number of vehicles that need to be in storage.

Similar to commercial car auctions websites, there are photographs, videos and detailed descriptions of the vehicles up for auction. The typical auction is up for 14 days, and customers can ask questions and get responses online from Motor Pool employees.

According to Mitchell Brown, Vehicle Maintenance Manager at Motor Pool, this new process keeps the surplus vehicles moving through the system much faster, and therefore the budget for new vehicles is also replenished more efficiently.
