The Cheyenne Stampede saw their first Western States Hockey League playoff series come to a quick end over the weekend with two road losses against the Boulder Bison in the best of three series. It wasn't the kind of performance the stampede had hoped for, being outscored by a total of 12-2 in the series. Despite the quick exit from postseason play, team officials in a press release describe the stampede's  initial season as a "monstrous success", citing strong attendance figures and the fact the team did make a playoff appearance in it's first season.
