Cheyenne City Councilman Scott Roybal has endorsed Amy Surdam for Mayor of Cheyenne.

Roybal, who was a candidate for mayor in the 2016 primary election, says Surdam has the leadership skills and experience needed to "hit the ground running on day one." He also says she has a "strong but pleasant personality" and is the candidate who wants "both needs and wants taken care of." Roybal says he agrees with Surdam about the need for amenities in the city to attract new businesses and maintain the local work force,

Surdam's opponent, Marian Orr, has stressed prioritizing what the community really needs as opposed to what some people may want as one of her main campaign themes. Orr says such things as fixing the numerous potholes on city streets and making sure the Cheyenne Police Department is properly staffed and equipped would be among her top priorities.

Roybal is the second Cheyenne City Council member to endorse Surdam in recent days, joining Richard Johnson in public support of her mayoral run.
