Have you heard that the Thunderbirds are coming to northern Colorado this weekend?

The U.S. Air Force precision aerial demonstration team will perform Saturday and Sunday at Aurora Reservoir as part of this weekend's Rocky Mountain Airshow.

If you can't wait for the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds performance on Cheyenne Day of Cheyenne Frontier Days, you can watch them at the Rocky Mountain Airshow at Aurora Reservoir both Saturday and Sunday, May 30 and 31. The Thunderbirds are scheduled at 12:45 p.m. following a U.S. Air Force Honor Guard demonstration.

The Rocky Mountain Airshow kicks off at 6 p.m. on Friday, May 29, with their Twilight airshow and fireworks. It will include several aerobatic performances and flyovers in vintage aircraft. One of the most unique aircraft performing is Matt Younkin's Twin Beach airplane with it's custom computerized light show.

The night will also include a meet and greet with the U.S. Air Force Thunderbird pilots in the Adventure Zone. This will be the first time they've performed at Aurora Reservoir in 18 years.

Aurora Reservoir is located at 5800 S. Powhaten Road in Aurora, Colorado. Two miles east of E-470 and Quincy Avenue. There will be no parking along the major roadways to watch the airshows.There is a $10 fee for parking and shuttles will take you to the reservoir.

The Adventure Zone will also feature interactive hands-on activities for kids of all ages exploring science and technology in the aviation field. Single day admission is $25 for adults, $22 for seniors and $5 for children 12 and under.
