Planning For Joint Fire Station Underway

Laramie County Commissioner Amber Ash says very preliminary planning work is underway on a proposed new fire station at the Archer Complex.

Ash says the new station would be joint station serving both fire districts 1 and 2.

She says the station would be an important addition to residents served by Laramie County Fire District #2 because on the east side of Cheyenne the only District 2 station is located on College Drive north of Dell Range.

Ash she says she is hopeful that some state economic development money might be available to help pay for the project. She says five companies have applied to do the the design and engineering work on the station.

She says interviews will be conducted with those companies over the next couple of weeks
