The excitement of the holidays has arrived in Wyoming, and hearts are full of joy. As we prepare for our Thanksgiving feasts, we must remember that not all our neighbors have full pantries, and many won't have a Thanksgiving dinner to serve to family. According to the Wyoming Hunger Initiative, over 86,000 people in Wyoming struggle with food insecurity. Last winter, Governor Gordon spoke on behalf of the Wyoming Hunger Initiative, noting that food bank donations are at the lowest during the holidays. This is why endeavors like the Pine Bluffs Distilling food drive this weekend are a blessing to the community.

Pine Bluffs Distilling & Ashley Jessen Photography Give Back: Food Drive & Photos

It's not often that a donation to a food drive earns you a free photo session for your family Christmas cards, but that's precisely what the Pine Bluffs Distilling team and Ashley Jessen plan to do tomorrow, November 18, at the distillery (115 Bourbon St.) from 4 to 8 p.m.

"It's important to us to give back to our community, and we fundraise throughout the year for Laramie County Community Christmas/Bar Bucks, which provides Christmas meals to Laramie County families," said Theresa Brown from Pine Bluffs Distilling. "We wanted to do something for our community for Thanksgiving as well. The funny thing about this Food Drive is that Ashley Jessen (of Ashley Jessen Photography) and I actually called the Food Bank on the same day with the same idea! Shortly after that, we connected, and the Food Drive event was born."

All are welcome to attend the event. In addition to a free photo session, donations allow you to win a Pine Bluffs Distilling gift basket! Come hungry, Graffiti Cuisine will be on sight at 4 p.m., and Pine Bluffs Distilling has a delicious sounding holiday cocktail on the menu (It's the Apple Pie cocktail made with bourbon, maple syrup, apple cider, and chicory pecan bitters. "It's like drinking dessert," says Theresa.)
