The Laramie County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help in finding whoever stole thousands of dollars worth of military items from a garage in south Cheyenne.

Public Information Officer Brandon Warner says the burglary occurred sometime between Oct. 12 and Oct. 17 in the 2000 block of South Greeley Highway.

"An unlocked garage was entered," said Warner. "A military helmet and armor vest were among the items taken."

Warner says the stolen items are valued at more than $2,800.

He did not know if they belonged to a veteran or active military member.

Anyone with information about the burglary is asked to call Crime Stoppers Silent Witness at 307-638-TIPS or visit silentwitnesslaramiecounty.com.

Informants will remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000.
