Operation Back to School, which collects school supplies for students from low-income families, handed out 2,000 backpacks containing supplies last Saturday.

That’s according to Laramie County School District #1 spokeswoman Mary Quast. The Operation Back to School ”Back To School Bash” was held Saturday at Lion’s Park in Cheyenne.

But Quast says people wanting to donate to Operation Back To School can still do so. One such opportunity is today (August 22) between 11:30 a.m. and I p.m. at Little America in Cheyenne at the Greater Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce Luncheon.

People can also donate either money to purchase supplies or supplies at Needs Inc. through the course of the school year. Classes begin in LCSD#1 on August 26 (Tuesday).
