A 21 year old Montana woman was killed in a two vehicle crash Tuesday evening on I-25 about 10 miles north of Casper.

The Wyoming Highway Patrol says Leah Bryan was travelling north in a 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer when the vehicle lost traction entering into a clockwise spin on the ice covered roadway.

The Trailblazer spun across the median and entered the southbound lanes of Interstate 25. Upon entering the southbound lanes during the spin, the Trailblazer was struck by a southbound 2015 Freightliner tractor-trailer combination unit. The Freightliner was driven by 37 year old Aaron Skunkcap of Lakewood, Colorado.

The patrol says Bryan was wearing her seat belt at the time of the crash but still sustained fatal injuries from the crash. Mr. Skunkcap and his passenger, 22 year old Randy Martinez of Denver, Colorado, were both transported by ground ambulance to Wyoming Medical Center in Casper. Both men were treated and released. Mr. Skunkcap was wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash. Mr. Martinez was in the sleeper berth section of the truck at the time of the crash.

The patrol says icy roads and adverse weather conditions are being investigated as the contributing factors in this crash,
