Welcome to KGAB 650AM with Gary Freeman!
I grew up in the ’70s and ’80s, in Long Beach and then Cerritos, California, with a desire to broadcast behind a microphone from a very early age.
Having lived in Wyoming for over 10 years, I love the wide open spaces, the people and calls the Cowboy State his home.

I got my start behind a microphone back in the ’80s when he was a DJ at a local, popular roller skating rink in Southern California. In 1988, I joined the United States Army infantry and proudly served in Germany, when the Berlin Wall came down, during the Cold War and during Dessert Storm.

Upon leaving the U.S. Army, I was educated in a private college in Graham, Washington and graduated in 1995.

This is my second time in the KGAB studio–in 2010, I hosted “Across America” on Saturday afternoons. From there, I hosted a Saturday morning program on KRAE 1480AM called, “The Backyard Network,” with Batman Ken and The Birdhouse Guy.

I’m now the “Morning Mayor” on the KGAB morning show, which airs Monday through Friday, 6 – 10 a.m.  I focus on community affairs, as well as topics that range from sports and politics to trending technologies and entertainment. I am passionate about people and strengthening relationships with them.

I enjoy the fine art of ventriloquism, collecting vintage radios and record players, listening to old-time radio programs, and spending time with his wife, Catherine, and daughter, Julia. I am also very active at my local church. In addition to his on-air morning show duties, Gary also writes for the KGAB WebsiteKGAB Facebook and KGAB Twitter.
