LCCC Officials Say Growth Drives Building Needs

A spokeswoman for Laramie County Community College says a 44 percent increase n enrollment over the last decade creates the need for two new buildings on LCCC's Cheyenne Campus.

Lisa Murphy says the college will ask Laramie County voters on November 5th to approve a bond issue of  $25 million for the construction of a new Student Center as well as a Flexible Technology Building. The total cost of the building project is estimated at $47 million, with the Student Center expected to cost $30 million and the Flex-Tech Building $14 million.

LCCC officials are also planning on appropriating $3 million for contingency and reserve costs for the project. If Laramie county voters approve the bond issue, the college is hoping to pay the balance of the $47 million cost of the project with state money.
