Laramie County School District #1 Assistant Superintendent for Instruction Dr. Tracy Kinney says that preliminary indications are that local students did well on this year's MAP testing.

MAP stands for Measure of Academic Progress and tests student skills in math, science, reading and writing.. Kinney says that while district officials are still analyzing the results and the hard numbers haven't bee finalized "we're excited about the data that's rolling in right now".

She says it looks like students at least matched last years scores in most areas and exceeded those scores in many categories. Kinney says the district will release the hard numbers once they are avialable
