Preparation is never wasted time, and especially if you are planning a spring or summer trip this year by plane. Here are some tips to help you along on your journey.  Today on the Top 5 at 7:45, I'll highlight some tips to help you get the best out of your trip as you plan to take to the friendly skies to get there. According to cheapair.com, here are some things we should be thinking about.

  1. Early Bookings - Some are saying that most people book about 47 days in advance and are saving up to about $210 per ticket in doing so.
  2. Don't Be So Stringent - Be as flexible as possible when booking tickets, on what days you can come and go. Saturdays are typically the most expensive days to fly.
  3. This Airport Or That One? - Consider a few different airport options, if possible. Many times the cities that you take your flight from, can make a big difference in cost.
  4. Red Eye Flights - Either you can go super early in the morning or really late at night. Many times you find yourself saving money on flights at these times.
  5. Fly In Here, But Fly Out Over There - Plan your trip. You may be able to fly into one airport and fly out of another at no additional cost. Check your airline member service representative before making the plan.
