An unoccupied 2002 Ford Taurus was considered a total loss after it caught fire while parked in the Jack Spiker Parking Facility, 322 W. 17th Street, in downtown Cheyenne late Friday afternoon.

No injuries were reported.

Cheyenne firefighters were called to the parking garage at 5:08 p.m. and arrived at 5:10 p.m. Firefighters had the fire out by 5:16 p.m.

The vehicle was parked approximately 200 feet up the north exit ramp on the first floor. Because of the fire and smoke, 17th Street between Pioneer and Carey avenues was closed for about an hour; the parking structure was closed for about 30 minutes.

Cause of the fire is undetermined at this time.
