Documents Claim Harassment By Cindy Hill While Head of Wyo. Education Dept.

(Amy RichardsTSM)

State officials have made public documents alleging harassment by Wyoming Schools Superintendent Cindy Hill and a staff member. The previously confidential document provides details about interviews with members of Hill’s staff, with some claiming improper touching by Hill and harassment by a male staff member.

The document was part of an inquiry launched shortly after Wyoming lawmakers passed a bill earlier this year stripping Hill of many of her powers. That report indicated possible misuse of federal lfunds while Hill ran the Education Department. Last week, lawmakers approved the creation of a special investigative committee to look into Hill’s actions, a move that could lead to impeachment proceedings.

Hill has denied any wrongdoing, and says she is the victim of a political “witch hunt.” Hill has announced she plans to run for Wyoming governor, and has sued the state and Governor Matt Mead over the law that removed her as head of the Education Department. The Wyoming Supreme Court has scheduled oral arguments next month on that suit.
