Republican Laramie County Commission candidate David Beedle said he is running for the commission because he believes the commission is not functioning all that well right now.

He said his main priority is cutting spending. He added that he doesn't think the county makes the wisest decisions whan it comes to spending.  He said one example of taxpayer money being wasted is the construction taking place at the Archer Complex east of Cheyenne. He said he doesn't understand why the county doesn't lease the facility and collect the rent.

Beedle said he also does not support the oil play in the county because of the damage that heavy trucks do to the roads. He said the oil play poses environmental risks as well because of hydraulic fracturing. Beedle also said he wants to see improvement to the county road and bridge department.

Beedle was born in Riverton and grew up in Rawlins, He currently owns Great Plains Operators in Cheyenne.
